Role summary

Creative Lead, AI Video & Characters · India (remote) · Full-time

You will create cinematic, Hollywood-quality short videos (Reels) with AI, from script to final cut. You turn a brief into a strong script, write the prompts and direct every shot. Characters, backgrounds, foregrounds, music and pacing must all be excellent. You also lead a small creative team and own the quality of everything it delivers.

About us

We are an AI engineering and consulting practice led by Arjun Thakur, Principal AI Engineer (ex-Amazon, Agoda). We build AI video tools and content for our clients. We need a responsible creative lead who cares about every frame.

What you'll do

  • Write scripts and hooks: turn a short brief into a clear, engaging story for a short Reel.
  • Write and refine prompts for AI video, image and voice tools to get cinematic results.
  • Direct every shot: background, foreground, lighting, camera movement and pacing.
  • Keep characters consistent in every shot: face, outfit, colours and style.
  • Choose music and sound that fit the mood and the edit.
  • Edit and finish Reels to a high standard; fix or regenerate weak shots.
  • Build a library of approved characters, scenes and clips to reuse.
  • Lead a small creative team: coach, review their work and keep quality high.
  • Work with our engineers to improve our AI video tool.

What you'll bring

We are looking for a top-quality creative leader, not just a tool operator.

  • 4+ years in video production, animation, VFX or motion design, including experience leading a team.
  • More than 1 year hands-on with generative AI video and image tools.
  • A portfolio of cinematic AI video, ideally with the same character across many shots.
  • Strong scriptwriting and storytelling for short-form video.
  • A strong eye for composition, lighting, camera movement, pacing, colour and music.
  • Skill in writing prompts and working with keyframes and reference images.
  • Editing and finishing in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or After Effects, especially vertical 9:16 video.
  • Reliable and responsible: delivers great work on time.
  • Clear written and spoken English.

Nice to have

  • Character design, 3D or illustration background.
  • AI voice, lip-sync and upscaling tools.
  • ComfyUI or other node-based AI workflows.
  • Sound design or music editing.
  • Experience creating Reels or other social media content.

Tools you'll use

No coding is needed. Our internal tool connects to leading AI video, image, voice and music tools, so you can focus on the creative work. You will work with tools such as:

  • Video: Gemini Omni, Veo, Seedance, Kling, Hailuo (MiniMax), HeyGen, Wan and Runway.
  • Images: Nano Banana and Midjourney.
  • Voice and lip-sync: ElevenLabs and sync.so.
  • Upscaling: Topaz.

Experience with any of these is a plus.

For editing and finishing, you will use Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or After Effects.

How success is measured

First 90 days

  1. A clear quality standard and review checklist for the team.
  2. A library of approved characters, scenes and clips, ready to reuse.
  3. Script and video templates that reliably produce great Reels.
  4. Your first team members onboarded and delivering to that standard.

Ongoing

  • Quality: cinematic visuals, consistent characters, strong scripts and music.
  • Reliability: Reels delivered on time, with few redos.
  • Audience results: watch time, shares and saves.

Hiring process

  1. Portfolio review: we look for AI video work that keeps characters consistent.
  2. Practical test: create short Reels like the ones you would make on the job, from our character sheets and a brief.
  3. Interview with Arjun Thakur: your test, your creative approach and how you lead a team.
  4. Reference check and offer.

Details

  • Location: remote (India).
  • Type: full-time.
  • Start: as soon as possible.
  • Salary: ₹40,000 per month, plus incentives and bonus. We can offer more for an excellent candidate.
